The story begins on November 3rd, 2021, when [[Hiroyuki Nishimura|Hiroyuki]] (Gookmoot) made the decision to close the [[4chan#Former/retired_boards|/qa/]] board. That decision set events into motion that few could foresee. It resulted in the birth of the [[Soyjak.party|Soyjak Party]], a board that the jannies initially dismissed as a one trick pony, for how long could a site last based on one joke (see [[8chan]] if you want an idea)? They had a comfy, tidy gig - /b/ was full of porn, /g/ was full of the same tedious arguments, /pol/ was just collective seething over Twitter screenshots, /r9k/ was one blackpill after another.

Sure, it didn't have the same vitality as before. But that didn't matter - the site was now at retirement age, and things were kept stable thanks to its band of devoted [[jannies|jannies (they did it for free)]]. It didn't need any maintenance - because who knows or cares about PHP in 2025? They were confident that as things had been, so they would always be. 4chan had calcified, and that meant it was basically unbreakable.

On April 14th, 2025, [[4chan]] was BRUTALLY hacked by a [[Soyjak.party|soyteen]] who promptly leaked images of the site's admin board. Emails, jannies' family info, and so on were all released to the public as well. As of April 15, 2025, 4chan is down. And, hey.. maybe this is the end of 4chan. Hopefully it isn't 4chan's last gasp... But, if it is, so long and thanks for all the fish. Jannies somehow rewrote the spaghetti code in 9 days. As is expected, they did that for free too.

How To

The hax was achieved through an [[STD| improperly sanitised upload]] of a PDF. It used an exploit in a hilariously outdated 2012 version of GhostScript that 4chan was using, whereby the hacker gained root. Other revelations include that the Yotsuba codebase is held together with prayers, duck tape and chewing gum, but it is now open source so you too can [[FTFY|help fix it]]! The infrastructure is somehow worse than that of ED's, making it a wonder that this hack hadn't happened sooner. In fact, such lax security is clear evidence that 4chan was a [[party van|CIA honeypot]] all along.

The How To For Getting Hacked

* 1: Don't Update Your Ghost Script

Okay Kiddies, so you want to hack a site and we know that you're all Ace Hackers that have mastered [[Computer Science 3]] but this is for those that haven't or just don't really give a [[Fuck]] about 0s and 1s.

This is for you - the lonely, friendless pale skinned [[Hacker|Wannabe hacker]], forced to spend the hours of [[G2g i need sleep|8pm to 6am]], all alone and locked up, stewing away in the summer heat or winter's cold, alone with a [[Computer|Lap Top]] as a [[friend]] that is your only source of entertainment and light. Every night, in your [[Prison|8' by 6']] fruit cellar punishment for having a [[Penis]], you sit there, on your uphoseterly foam bed, hating [[Wimmins]] and slowly becoming a [[Serial Killers|serial killer]] because [[Your Mom|Your Step Mother]] is convinced that you'll [[Ræp]] her [[Fat|fat assed]] daughters if she let's you sleep upstairs, because she can and [[Just Because]] your dad died and there's no one left to defend you.

A ghostscrip is a software used to process PDFs and create thumbnails. Now, if you want an easy site to [[Hacker|hack]], what you do is find a site that forget, just didn't give a "[[Fuck]]" or just plain out ignored to update it for over [[Over 9000|10]] years.

This is important because the software will have well known vulnerabilities that every [[1337]] hacker in a [[Kid|Kindergarten]] classroom can exploit.

All you need to do is go to the [[internets]], do a little research on the software that the site is using and find all the vulnerabilities that you want to exploit.

* 2: In the case of [[4chan]], your exploit will be to use the fact that they have an improper file verification that fails to recognize if any uploaded file is an actual PDF.

For you, this is the [[Surprise Sex]] that you'll have to resort to to have a kid, or [[sex]] for the first time. Hopefully, for you, it will be in a state that doesn't allow abortion or you'll have the bad luck of getting yourself a devout, [[Ireland|Irish]] Catholic girl, that has been taught that she will go to [[Hell]] if she even Thinks of having the baby [[Abortion|sucked out]] and if you want to stay out of [[Prison]] you'll have to live a [[Love]]less marriage where you get your [[ass]] kicked by her three older brothers, every other week, because, admit it, you're a rapist.

What you want to do is to exploit this flaw by uploading a [[Evil|malicious PostScript file]] you disguised as a PDF on one of the boards that permit this file type.

Most likely, this would have to have been their [[Loli]] sex board because they pretty much have no moderators there and let the users decide what should stay up or be taken down because [[4chan]] wants to keep the [[Horny|natives]] happy so that they'll keep donating those sweet, sweet [[Bitcoin]]s that help cover their server costs and buy them their overpriced [[weed]] at their state's [[Marijuana]] dispensary.

* 3: This is [[The Money Shot]] kiddies. Hopefully, your hack gave you [[Administrator|administrative powers]] through a process that is [[TL;DR]] and manifested you into [[God]] giving you complete control over the [[Website|Site's]] code.

Think of yourself as Neo in [[The Matrix]]. You have the power to rewrite the [[Earth|World]] through a process that is only limited by your imagination.

You can put 25,000 [[Penis|dicks]] on the splash page [[Just Because]] you can.

You can acquire the information of all the site's moderators, put it up on the [[internets]], [[Dox]]ing them just for [[Lulz|Shits and Giggles]] so that people can find them [[IRL]] and send them a pre-paid meatball, extra cheese and green pepper topping pizza, destroying what would have been a decent pizza because no one likes green peppers.

After a week or so, you have to give some time after the first date, the anonymous internet sleuth can follow up by sending a nice bouquet to the moderator that has a [[love]]r's message saying that you know who the mod is and you, the slouth, are going to send all the posts that they've made on 4chan to their place of employment. Wait, what are we saying. Mods dont have real [[Job]]s. They're all [[NEET]]s. Every post they've made would have to be sent to their Mother just for the shock value.

For the [[Lulz]], you can erase all of the site's [[Data]] and put a pretty pic on the main page showing the world that that site has been hacked and, if your [[Balls]] are big enough, you can add a signature letting the world know who did the hacking.

Finally, you can go the boring but classic path and take the site completely off of the web so users only get an error message when they try to access it.

Worse, people are trying to manifest 4chan's permanent downfall as if all the "Nazi CHUD" Anons won't just try to invade their spaces in due time. Have fun with that! What's Next

So now what? Well, the site can't go back up because now everyone knows what system they're using as well as their keys. So Gookmoot and his crack team of jannies are probably just going to patch holes just enough to last the next 10 years until someone uploads a ZIP file to take it down again. They may also update their copyright notices.
